Nebraska Sustainable Agriculture Society

Nebraska Sustainable Agriculture Society (NSAS) recognizes the vital relationship between healthy local agriculture, and a sustainable local food system. The relationship requires that much of the food consumed is grown and processed locally. This adds quality of life; security;social, economic, and ecological balance; and responsibility to the community. It is the understanding of this relationship that motivates the Society's work to strengthen and enhance these systems, while engaging all.

NSAS is a non-profit, grassroots, member-based organization, founded in 1976 by a small group of farmers committed to the ideals that are still embraced by the organization and its members. We collaborate with other organizations to support healthy rural and urban communities, for farmers and non-farmers.
