Our grocery department offers a wide variety of healthy, delicious, quality natural foods at a reasonable price and with a high level of service. We feature the best selection of hundreds of organic products and offer many locally-produced items. Our policy is to supply natural foods free of artificial flavors, colors and preservatives, with a few exceptions because of high demand for a specific product.

Open Harvest carries an extensive assortment of products suitable for those with special needs, including gluten-free, wheat-free, lactose-free and salt-free diets.

Each month we offer a wide selection of deeply discounted products on sale to all our shoppers through the Co-op Advantage Program. Look for these sale items under "Monthly Specials" on the main page of this website, or pick up a sales flyer in the store. "Member Only" coupons are also available each month.

In the meat department we stock organic chicken, turkey, beef and buffalo, and we also carry natural, free-range beef, buffalo, pork, chicken, turkey and ostrich. We support local producers and provide their products whenever possible. We have added fresh, natural, cage-free, air cooled chicken from Plum Creek Farm in Burchard, Nebraska. It is available from the deli/seafood case arriving most Thursdays. In addition we have organic grass-fed beef and naturally raised Piedmontese beef (grass and grain fed), and angus beef (grass only.)

We offer ready-to-heat entrees in our frozen department, plus a variety of vegetarian burgers, hot dogs and other meatless options. Look for organic fruits and vegetables, Ben & Jerry's ice cream, dairy-free ice cream, and many more selections in the freezer aisle.

Our household selection features safe, effective cleaning products derived primarily from replenishable resources, all to help you maintain a healthier and more sustainable home, lifestyle, and environment.

We pride ourselves on our customer service! Our knowledgeable staff will be happy to help you find just what you need. We can usually special order those hard-to-find items for you to pick up at the store. We are always open to suggestions for new products you'd like to see on our shelves, so please let us know.

Grocery Buying Guidelines

• The Grocery Department will, as much as possible, buy products that are organically grown and produced, sustainably grown, fairly traded, local, non-GMO, and free of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives.
• We will try to support companies that are local, small scale, or cooperatively run and that use packaging that is minimal, recyclable or biodegradable.
• In our non-food items we will, as far as possible, purchase goods that are environmentally friendly. This includes, but is not limited to, high recycled content, free of artificial fragrances and colors, biodegradable, compostable, chlorine-free, non-toxic, sustainable, sweatshop free, and rechargeable, as applicable.
• Other considerations include customer demand and competitive pricing. We reserve the right to go outside these guidelines when no other option is available to maintain a broad product line and to offer our customers a wider and more complete range of products.

Delivery Service for Seniors and Shut-ins

Open Harvest offers a delivery service for seniors and those unable to make it to the store due to illness or disability.

Call in your order on Thursday mornings between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and your groceries will be delivered in the early afternoon. Payment by cash or check is due at the time of delivery. You can also use your credit card if you give the information to the person who takes your order over the phone.

There is no charge for delivery but we do ask for a $5.00 minimum order. You must live within the Lincoln city limits to take advantage of this service.
