Have you stopped by our meat and seafood counter lately? We now carry a bigger selection of natural meats than ever before! Open Harvest has been developing new relationships with regional pork and beef suppliers.

New Verity Pork

Our meat department manager Alex Wolfe has been searching for a source of natural pork for some time, and is happy to report we now have Verity natural pork from South Dakota. Verity has top quality natural tenderloins, St. Louis style ribs, and ground pork. Customers having been giving A+ to the fat, juicy boneless pork chops.

Here's the Beef

Recently, from David City, Alex picked up NaturalAll New York Strips, rib eye, flat iron, and top sirloin steaks. We know some folks that enjoy grilling all four seasons! Alex has also brought in new Dakota organic roasts, ground beef, and tender stew meat from South Dakota. We continue to bring you top quality Nebraska grown natural Myolean Peidmontese ground beef from the Moening family in Norfolk and grass fed ground beef from the Hirshler family Lakeside Farms in Jansen.

We've Got Local!

The Egbers family from Hooper and the Hutchinson family Tatanka Meats from Rose, have been supplying us with top quality bison for many years. Our customers love this lean native grass fed meat, and we have tender lamb available from the Thiltges family from Rulo. We continue to carry the best selection of natural poultry including local chicken from Plum Creek Farms in Burchard and local ostrich from CeBergs Farm near Lincoln. Blue Valley Aquaculture raises steelhead trout and delivers to our store from Sutton. Check back in with Alex as he continues to research and explore new resources for local and regional farmers.

Fresh Seafood

For the holidays, Alex will be bringing in whole sides of smoked salmon and lox. Look for delicious white smoked salmon from Wild Caught. Soon, we will be sourcing American shrimp, including Louisiana wild shrimp. Oysters, mussels, scallops and so much are available. For special and/or large orders call us before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday to pick up your fresh fish later that same day!
