Nebraska Sustainable Agriculture Society's Annual Conferences are about learning skills, gaining perspectives, and having fun. The 2007 conference to be held in Norfolk, Nebraska, will be no exception. This year, we will welcome Dan Imhoff, President of the Wild Farm Alliance, author and publisher of numerous books and articles on "reconnecting food systems and ecosystems." In addition to the keynote address, conference participants will have the opportunity to choose between four different tracks: Food and Health Connections, Alternative Energy Options for Small Farms, Alternative Farming Opportunities, and new this year, a youth track with programs on soil, water, forestry, wildlife and sustainable agriculture. In addition to our keynote, confirmed speakers include; Tilak Dhiman, Dr. Richard Franssen, Dr. Vonk, Laura Pales, Kevin Fulton, and Brooke Levley.
Tradition continues with two exciting auction fundraisers and an all-Nebraska sustainable Banquet. On Friday night, February 9, there will be a live auction with items ranging from beautiful prints to organic/sustainable products to agritourism experiences. On Saturday, February 10, we will have our traditional silent auction featuring, books, products, livestock, prints, goods from Nebraska farms and restaurants and more.
The entertainment for Friday evening following the banquet will be BEAT, an unique percussion group comprised of youth from Ainsworth, Nebraska.
