Open Harvest Newsletter Policy

Newsletters are distributed quarterly, the first week of: January, April, July and October.

Newsletter deadline is one month before distribution: December 1, March 1, June 1, and September 1.

Articles, announcements, and sales notices up to 500 words in length may be submitted. If you would like to submit a longer article, you can make a request to the editor. Notice of intent to submit an article and approximate length must be made to the editor 2 weeks before deadline. Submitter will be recognized as the author.

The editor may edit or delete articles if needed due to space limitations or content unrelated to Open Harvest’s mission. The editor will make every effort to notify the submitter if edits need to be made only if the article is submitted before the deadline. Late items cannot be guaranteed space.

As the newsletter format is updated, this policy is subject to change.

Open Harvest Newsletter Advertising Rates

Open Harvest newsletter is published quarterly in January, April, July, and October. As of March 2008, advertising in the newsletter becomes an exclusive benefit of Open Harvest membership.

Deadlines for submissions are on the first of December, March, June, and September.

As of April 2009, membership approaches nearly 3000. Print copies are distributed at Open Harvest and at community outreach events for three months.

The newsletter is emailed to our growing membership mailing list of participants that choose to subscribe. Customers may sign up in the store and anyone can sign up online. Newsletters are posted and archived on our website www.openharvest.coop

Ad size: Business card 1/8 page: 3.5" wide x 2" high.

Advertising rates: $160 per year for 4 issues. Full payment must be made in advance of advertising.

Preferred formats are eps, tif, jpg, pdf or psd. Do not compress.

Open Harvest does not publish political or religious advertisements. We limit ads due to space constraints.
